Nancy O'Dell started her career in broadcasting by working as an anchor at WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Then she became an anchor in the morning and a reporter at WCBD TV. Her reporting of the ineffective responses of police officers in response to DUI cases in Charleston caused an investigation being conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, that led to a revised direction from the state authorities on DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell won the Best Report of the Media Award in South Carolina by the Associated Press. O'Dell has worked in Charleston reporting and anchor at the NBC Miami WTVJ-TV station prior to moving to Access Hollywood where she is currently a co-anchor and correspondent on weekends. The present role of O'Dell as host of Access Hollywood is complemented by her contributions to NBC News Today, Dateline NBC and NBC News. She's covered the Academy Awards The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards and co-hosted several Pre-ShowArrivals Shows for The Emmys And The Golden Globes. She co-hosted both the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
